Jude Bellingham has not been included in Gareth Southgate’s latest England squad.
The 18-year-old Borussia Dortmund midfielder has failed to make it into a tightly contested group, despite being included in recent England squads and featuring in the European Championship during the summer, when he made three substitute appearances.
But Southgate has recalled Manchester City’s Phil Foden, who missed the last squad due to injury, while Liverpool veteran Jordan Henderson is also included. Declan Rice and Kalvin Phillips, who have been Southgate’s preferred deeper-lying midfielder pair, retain their place joined by the more attacking options of Mason Mount and Jesse Lingard.
